F.A.Q.

What type of church is Christian Joy Center?
Christian Joy Center is a nondenominational, interracial church which welcomes people from all backgrounds. We believe and teach that the Bible is God's Holy Word and should be taken seriously. CJC is linked to an organization called Evangelical Christian Church Ministries (ECCM) which is the parent organization of this ministry.

Are you Charismatic or Pentecostal?
No! We carry no affiliation with these organizations, but we are firm believers of the charisma (gifts of the Spirit) and do practice and teach the full counsel of God's word.

Are there programs for my children and teenagers?
Yes! There are complete Children's Church services every Sunday and Wednesday for ages 1-12. Wednesday evenings are when the teen ministry (B.A.D D.O.G.S.) conducts its awesome services. The ages range from 13-18. We sponsor summer camps, missionary trips, Vacation Bible School and other programs. We believe in ministering to the whole family, giving special attention to children and teens.

What about singles?
The unmarried adult is very important here at CJC. We have a singles ministry called "Successful Single Christians/One In Christ" (SSC 1), created to ensure that our singles are never without wholesome and meaningful fellowship. This particular ministry ensures that our singles are never without things to do on holidays and other festive occasions.

Does CJC have adequate nursery facilities?
Yes! Our staff of nursery workers provides loving care for your infants and toddlers during every church service or program.

Do you offer Women's ministry?
Yes! The "S.O.C.Ks" come together for special teaching and study once a quarter with the meeting time and date listed in the weekly bulletin. Their purpose is to share the Word of God and apply it to the unique needs of women.

Do you offer men's ministry?
Yes! We have an active lively brotherhood called "Mighty Men of Valor." Once a quarter the men come together for preaching, teaching, and other activities. We believe men have a tremendous purpose in the last days; therefore, we put strong emphasis on the spiritual development of men that they may lead in every facet of life.

Are there music ministries?
Yes! There are choirs for both children and adults. Those who wish to be involved in a choir, ensemble, or orchestra are required to complete the "Covenant Bonding Course." You are invited to inquire about participating in either of the above. Call the church office M-F at 595-1307.

Do you have a statement of beliefs?
Yes! CJC has a clear, well defined statement of beliefs which is in our membership manual.

Do you baptize babies?
No, but we are delighted to publicly dedicate babies to the Lord. Every first Sunday of the month at 11:30am we have a dedication service for parents wishing to dedicate their children. Water baptism for children age 8 and older is available. For further information, contact the church office at 595-1307.

Can people outside the church be married at CJC?
Yes! Further information is available at the church office call 595-1307.
